I was never a member of a "fight club," but I used to be in what we called the "eclectic club."
We were about a dozen or so, martial art students, all from different styles and different levels.
The leader of the club, was a tremendous martial artist, he was an aikido instructor, and also, kung fu practitioner.
No one in the class could compete against this gentleman, but he was a great teacher, and could be rough. He introduced to me leg kicking, which I had no answer to, I was a basic tae kwon do student, and I had never seen this.
I used to hobble all day, from bruises on the sides of my thighs, as a result of the leg kicking.
It was far from the movie, "The Fight Club." I think the best Edward Norton movie, though he has some good ones.
I would not call him the best actor of my time, the billing that I would give Sean Penn. I also enjoy Tom Hanks. But I think, Sean Penn has a better range, but that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
One for the road, "I wish I was in Tijuana, eating barbecued iguana."

Jimmy,
ReplyDeleteAre you a ufc fan? Do you enjoy watching the tactitical advantage a good leg kicker has over a less adept opponent? I have a new appreciation for leg kicking after seeing how it wears good fighters down in a match.
