"Ruby throated sparrow."

From one of my favorite songs of all time. I guess I should give one hint, maybe a couple, the song was one of the highlighted songs, at Woodstock, and a more specific clue, it is about Judy Collins. This should make the song obvious and the question fairly easy, especially to the Woodstock generation. I think this hint, will suffice.

It takes me back to a time where I was obsessed with a female, who I gave my heart to, who did not reciprocate, and I guess the whole basis of my relationship if you want to call that one, "just my imagination, running away with me." This quote is easy, but I still leave that to a question for the blog.

I think many people go through this, a growing process of sorts. But this relationship, I still think about, and I guess I made a mistake early on, in high school, I tried to rectify it in college, but I learned, it is difficult " to try to right, what once, was wrong." So Scott Bakula, Quantum Leap method, did not work for me in real life. I really liked that show, and thought the actor is talented, partaking in a different role, every week.

Your thoughts?

    That was a Suite song.
I think time may dull the fiery pain of youthful heartbreak, but, looking back on that period of your life, were you ever so totally alive as then? Thinking back on my own "Judy Collins," the emotions were so raw that they created physical pain.
As for Quantum Leap, it was in a series of great Bellisario productions (except for maybe Airwolf).

    1. That was a great, and thoughtful, response. My reaction: did you see the sunrise? Was one of my favorite episodes of Magnum PI, as I'm sure you know.
Great double meaning, it is a sweet song, stress, more than physical pain, did you ever see the episode of quantum leap, where Scott was sitting with the little girl, watching television, and the beginning of Magnum was playing, and the little girl commented.
Never cared for air Wolf. But then again, I never really watched it.

Bellisario references Magnum in NCIS several times as well, including the famous Hawaiian shirt. A little interconnectivity just for fans!

    1. Dear Cat,
you are right, assuming that it is reciprocal. But as I said, mine was not, not even close. Live and learn I guess.

  4. Dear Jimmy,
Although the love wasnt reciprocal you should know that I always loved you, although in a different way, that of a best friend. As I grow older I realize that the important relationships that I had at that time, the ones that I let slide are the ones that really mattered most. The ones that I should have cherished instead of the ones that were meant to only be temporary. Ynd you learn?ou live a

  5. Dear anonymous/Goldie,
I cherished the time I spent with you, no question. I just wish that it was stopped a long time earlier. There were things said, gestures made, places and events that were attended, if I simply would not do, with a "best friend." Undoubtedly, I would not have been so persistent, if I were told that there was no chance. I think the relationship was, just to easy for you and there was no need for you to pursue it yourself. I guess it is human nature to want to pursue or be pursued.

    1. Jimmy,

I think Tom Petty had it right when he wrote, There's people running round loose in the world, ain't got nothing better to do, than make a meal out of some bright eyed kid.

You let yourself be blinded by the light.

A pause in the quotes--Can't think of a good reason to use the word 'friend' for what happened there. Friendship isn't always pretty, but that was heavily one-sided on ugly. Seems like Anonymous still can't commit to speaking plainly.

Although first used by the Bridgeport Bombshell, Set Me Free, Why Don't You Babe. You Keep Me Hanging On.

    2. Dear sidekick,
that was well said, I should have just worn a visor, to be protected, not be blinded by the light.
I may never know the follow-up comments, because I am not sure, whether Goldie will reply and/or comment again.
      Thank you for your perspective.
